Felt appliques

Hi, I want to sew some felt appliques onto some baby bodysuits to brighten them up a bit - but does anyone know if you need to use special felt? Just wondering how it would wash (especially after being sicked on!) Maybe I should use fabric instead...

you can get washable felt - but i was wondering this too as lots of toys are now made with felt

yeah you need to get wool felt rather than acrylic i think.

when acrylic is washed it wears quite badly.

Felt doesn't wash very well, even wool felt. It bobbles up and will wear away in patches. You'd be best using fabric tbh.
