What have been your biggest crafting disasters?

I just can't believe what happened this morning. I had nearly finished varnishing a pendant that had taken 3 days to make, I just had 1 coat to go. I sat down at my craft table to do something else while the latest coat dried, pulled the table in towards me and it collapsed!!! Everything went flying, covering the entire floor in varnish (a very nearly full 2L pot) as well as the computer, and the chair. The basket with all my weaving stuff got covered too and the pendant is now in the bin covered in cat hair. NOT the best start to the day!

Make me feel better please, tell me your crafting disasters.

None as horrendous to clear up as that but, I've had the jumper with holes where the ribbing meets the body, the socks that were too short to fit the receipients feet, the crafting bag where I forgot to change the tension on the sewing machine and it all bunched up.

I'm not a knitter but I know the feeling when you get the tension wrong. MOst annoying and seems such a waste of time.

At least with yarn, you just wind it back into a ball, I think a floor full of varnish might just be my cracking point.

I have sewed my finger through and had to pull the needle out, once disengaged from the machine, with a pair of pliers.

Lets just say it's the first time I've sworn in a long time.

discoverlife sounds too painful, think I would rather clean up 2L of varnish

last trip that we went to the states for 3 weeks a packet of wet wipes got left ontop of two painted canvases, when we got back the packet was dry and when i pulled out the paintings they were stained through and mouldy, though smelled of babywipes.

sorry about the varnish .. most of my mishaps normally happen in the kitchen.. i'm a pretty god cook but i always seem to get burt
