Easy crochet scarf patterns for lace weight thread?

Got some lovely Stylecraft charm laceweight thread that I was thinking of making a lacy scarf from. However, it's not too easy to work with and I've discovered to my cost that it's near-impossible to undo. So I think I need a pretty foolproof pattern. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What about a C2C design with a larger hook?

A feather and fan pattern might work. Or there’s a scarf pattern called Rose Windows which is just chains and sc and dc (US crochet terms).

Thanks! I ended up adapting a reasonable easy leaf-type pattern for a shawl that I found in one of the crochet magazines, but you've given me ideas for another couple of balls of lace-weight yarn that I bought on impulse because they were in one of those sale bins.
