Welcome back seamsters! It is soon to be September and Autumn is on its way.

No firm decision on a tankini top pattern yet but I’m looking at a Jalie. I made a cropped swimwear top earlier in the year by adapting the bralette from Luna loungewear so I may do that again. Ideally I’d like a racer back but I’m not too bothered as I do ‘proper’ swimming in a one piece anyway.

No sewing this weekend. Off to a food festival today then we’re picking up a distant eBay purchase tomorrow. I’ve just restored a leather recliner and have found a matching one for a good price.

Can I join in? Have a few weeks confined to the house this month following minor op on my foot - so hoping to get some Christmas decs made. Have a half-finished pom-pom wreath that's been lurking at the back of the cupboard for a year. And have a needle-felted garland lit that is unopened....

Welcome welcome @Titsflyingsouth I look forward to hearing about your Christmas makes. I might give a bit of Xmas felt craft a go myself.

Going to start on a new top for work today. Using the Cashmerette Montrose top pattern but I will rethink the sleeves and neck binding. I went with the large sized sleeves and followed the instructions on the neck binding but it all came out a bit artist's smock. Narrower sleeves and side slits are the way to go I think.

I haven't posted since the start of the year but have loved seeing makes and learning more about indy pattern companies which I haven't got into yet. I finally finished the checked dress I started last winter I made so many silly mistakes! It looks better on than in the picture. I then got distracted with making curtains and cushions.I finished this cat print dress this week!

I agree, exciting to have a weekend free for sewing! I have 4 days booked off work in a couple of weeks time.

My cutting out for my next top for work is complete. I have wound the bobbin, threaded the sewing machine. All ready to start!

I have time to sew at the moment but I'm wasting it by not knowing what to do next.

I really need to scrap bust so I’m going to sort out decent sized pieces to start with. Hopefully there’ll be enough for a top. Then I guess I ought to get on with making trousers now we’re in September

I don't know about you @jins but I've got to be excited about whatever it is I'm making. The right pattern, right material etc so finding the right project sometimes takes a little time

That’s exactly the problem @NutellaEllaElla. I’m still living in shorts so the idea of making sensible work type trousers doesn’t appeal. I’ve got a few patterns I want to make but I know they’ll need a lot of adjustments starting with broad shoulders and I’m not in the mood.

Plus the sewing cat is following me round 🤣

I did some sewing recently though not photographed as I'm not 100% happy with them - I made some fridaypatterncompany.com/products/square-neck-top-pdf-pattern It's a nice pattern, but I just wasn't certain about the square neck. I made 3 out of 3m of fabric though, so probably a good stashbuster. I hand drew a round neck and I'm happier with it as something I'll wear, so I'm going to get the value from the pattern.

Also - I'm one of your new followers on Insta NuttellaElla my profile photo has me wearing a baby pink wig so not really how you normally see me.

Once I'm back from holiday my plans are to make a Halloween dress for my friend's daughter (need to find some fabric with nice pumpkins on ) and some jogging bottoms for my husband.
