Hello, can someone give a noob a quick bit of advice please? I have (mostly) successfully made a couple of envelope style cushion covers. Do you think it is possible to do this for an entire sofa seat? Or is that stupid? Need to recover my sofa cushions and am hoping this may work? Thanks for any info/advice

In short - no!

The cushion covers that you have made are 2 dimensional and your sofa seat pads are three dimensional.
The most simple method is a one piece box cover. It will need a zip to keep it tight.
