Or plaster of paris....Or what

I'm a childminder and the most unpractical person you could meet....I want my mindees to do hand prints in something for their parents for Christmas. I tried Clay but it was too hard (could that be 'cos it had fibres in it)

What can I use and where can I buy it??
Before Tuesday please....

can i butt in and ask if anyone has ideas for painting them? what sort of paint can you use without it looking matt and poster paintish! a nice marbley glaze perhaps?

cathncait · 28/11/2004 13:53

Hi Maybe not as exciting as painting it - we made some with jsut food colouring in the playdough. They came out great and have lasted nicely. And so easy , no mess or mucking around!
We finished them in the oven.

I used Das clay and liquid paint which I then sprayed with a light varnish when dry.

where did you get your clay, paint and varnish from Lizs? Thanks

Egypt · 29/11/2004 15:32

BUMP!

LIZS · 30/11/2004 08:36

Well I'm in Switzerland so can't be specific for UK, but the Das clay came from a stationers/craft shop, paints were from an ELC set (the little pots which come with paint by numbers etc), and it was a spray varnish also from a craft/diy store.
