colour your own umbrella kits

Anyone tried these from Baker ross? Thinking of it for an activity for ds (9). Do you have to iron the umbrella to fix the colours? Do they really work as umbrellas or does the colour run in the rain?

I haven't tried the baker ross ones, but have done something similar (prob the same). You just 'felt tip' onto the brolly? It worked, and didn't run in the rain and didn't need fixing by ironing or anything. I did it with DD (she was 6 at the time) and it was fun, something a bit different.
