ds loves the haahoos from Night Garden, but as you can buy them I'm going to have a go at knitting one . I thought I'd do the purple bell shaped one and knit a tube which is wider at one end. I can then embroider/sew on felt shapes of the flowers and eyes etc.

I was thinking roughly 40-50 st cast on, k10 rows, then gradually decrease over the next 10, straight for 10 and then shape the head bit.

Any ideas/suggestions? The best pic I can find is here

it took ages to sew around the white of his eyes - I had to use 2 lengths of cross-stitch floss held in place with tiny overstitches. there would probably be a better way to get the same effect but I couldn't think what!!

I'm not really happy with him as he doesn't look exactly like I had hoped - but then I a terrible perfectionist!!

He looks brilliant and I'm sure your friends lucky son thinks he's the bees knees! I'm hopeing mine turns out half as good!
