A friend told me about somehting that kept her daughter amused for ages (we were trying to have coffee in Starbucks at the time and DD was bored with her books etc and trying to stop the conversation every 2 mins by saying she needed the toilet ).

Anyway, friend said she had got them in ELC but her daughter is considerably older than mine and ELC that i went in to had no idea what I was talking about.

Apparently they are more suitable than beads for the younger ones as they just clasp together rather than having to be threaded, come in different shapes and sizes and can be linked together to make just about anything but bracelets, necklaces etc I think are what my friend described.

Does anyone know what the heck I am talking about please??

TIA

Might be magnabeads ? We got some - but you had to thread them onto string and only some were magnetic - seemed a bit odd to me - but dd liked them !

thanks scatterbrain but I dont think they can be what my friend meant because of the age range (age 6 plus it says for magna beads). She said her daughter had them when she was my dd's age which is nearly 3.
