My singer 416 (about 50+ years old) has always been fantastic. Foot control went, fixed by technician. Then the bobbin wouldn't pull through so back to technician. He fixed it and when we came to use it, it won't stitch. The handwheel is really stiff. Took it back to technician, he said it was a fuse (no idea why as it was on and light was on) changed the fuse and said it was fine. Got it home and it won't stitch - handwheel is really tight and pushing down on the foot control is going to burn the motor out. Before I dump it in frustration, can anyone offer a solution please? I have looked on utube but nothing specific to this issue on a similar singer that has a top loading bobbin.
