Would love to make a baby blanket but worried granny stitch would be too holey for a baby.
Any other recommendations?
Thanks

Seed stitch or linen stitch?

Moss stitch is lovely. Can throw in a few rows of puff for texture.

C2c or any of the whirl patterns

Thanks I will search for these.
Would cotton be better than acrylic for baby blanket or should I get a specific baby wool

I always opt for natural fibres especially where little ones are concerned - as to cotton or wool, I don't think it matters.

I don't think blankets are used for small infants anymore anyway so you might want to design in it mind for a toddler.

I've just finished one in cotton yarn, and it was all worked in double crochet!

I've just done a blanket in Bernet blanket yarn in half trebles, no holes & grew really fast.
