New Year resolution to do some craft! Only I am not particularly talented at anything. Can cast on in knitting and do a plain stitch, my drawing is frankly worse than my 5 year old but I really would like to make something for the house or me!

Any suggestions please

The only way to improve your knitting is to practice. There are only really 2 differnet stitches to learn, once you have mastered those, then combinations of those stitches creates a whole new ball game!

There are plenty of knitters on here to give you advice!

How about cross stitch- just a case of following a chart to start off with.

Will get my thinking cap on!

murphyslaw- i'm not a terribly good knitter either but I find that by doing small little projects it helps to get better with practice. the last think I knit was a miniture scarf with tassels for DS's toy cat to wear. But he has been so happy with it it was worth it and good practice.

when my mum taught me to knit, she got me to knit small squares of odd bits of wool and then I sewed them up to make a blanket for my Sindy doll! How about a hat then? the patterns are quite easy to follow?

How about a bit of collage with your dcs?
