Can anyone tell me where I can order cheap arts and crafts supplies? (Or tell me what stores you go to and I'll see if I can find one nearby.)

Thanks, as always, for your help!

try
Baker Ross (altho' the catalogue is better than online)
eBay also have some fantastic bargains
stick-n-mix are also good

are you after kiddie craft stuff?

babster · 23/11/2004 11:03

Baker Ross
Artastik

I can recommend both of these. Also, Wilkinsons has glitter/sequins/packs of paper/paint at very reasonable prices.

maomao · 23/11/2004 11:20

Thank you! Yes, how silly of me to have not made that clear before --- kiddie crafts for a bored preschooler....

hobbycraft do have loads of stuff but i find them quite expensive for many things.
they do demos at the weekend which are interesting, even when it is somethig you already do you often pickup tips and short cuts

lucysmum · 25/11/2004 08:47

Discount bookshops/stationery shops like The Works are good.

SoupDragon · 25/11/2004 12:09

Baker Ross is fab - the website is a bit ticky to navigate if you don't know what you're after but it has a special offers section which is fab. I got some Christmas & halloween stuff back at Easter when it was reduced.

SoupDragon · 25/11/2004 12:09

I've just discovered a huge stash of "grown up" craft stuff I've hoarded away and forgotten about. If you don't see me on MN for a while, that's why!

pepsi · 25/11/2004 12:16

Yellow Moon do stuff to, we get the catalogue from the school and whenever we buy anything we use the schools code so they get cash from it too. They are connected to Baker Ross in someway I think.

maomao · 25/11/2004 12:29

LOL SoupDragon! Perhaps you should put on your answer phone: "Hello, Soupy cannot get to the phone at the moment, as she's trapped under loads of craft materials. Please leave a message at the tone.... Thank you for calling."

I think I know where there's The Works near me, so I shall have to go soon! And I shall have to check out Yellow Moon and Hobby Craft.

Thank you all again!

Asda is quite good for glitter etc, as is Wilkinson (bought some yesterday for kids at my YOuth Club). ALos, have you tried Ebay?

sparkler1 · 27/11/2004 22:01

Do you have Bitz shop near you. I bought a huge jar of glitter in there the other day for £1. They also loads of other crafty things. Fab place to get a really nice, cheap pressie for your kids to give their friends as a birthday present.

misdee · 27/11/2004 22:05

i say ELC. prices from 50p.

melsy · 01/12/2004 18:54

This art discount store . is amazingly cheap especially if in bulk.

janeybops · 01/12/2004 19:16
