Yarn regret

I've bought this yarn to knit a scarf for my step daughter. I'm a new knitter don't really know what I'm doing.

I've tried a few stitches but I want something that shows a nice pattern and nothing I've tried does that.

Can anyone recommend a stitch that would look nice with this yarn? Should I go down in needle size?

Double moss stitch would be worth a look. It’s just the basic knit and purl stitches but alternating them as you work so your columns of stitches alternate between them in each row.

You could try double rib. Two stitches knit two purl. Reverse on second row 2 purl 2 knit. Check youtube loads of great knitting videos. When you get more experienced you could try cable which can be nice on a scarf.

Have you looked on Ravelry?

It's free to join and if you look up that particular yarn you can see what projects people have knitted with it and how it looks. Highly recommend that site if you are a knitter/crocheter.
