AND Make GIFT CARDS from them, I just made 25 cards in less than 5 minutes.

Just Chop off the front and then fold it in half, the picture then wraps around the card and you can cut the pictures accordingly to the design. You get about 3-4 per card.

Use a hole punch to make a hole in the corner, You could add some glitter or leave as is.

Disclaimer: OK maybe it's not the most original idea, but i was about to put them in a planet ark bag and thought maybe there was a more energy efficient way to recycle them

Any ideas regarding recycling are great.

I have cut mine up, for making winter collages, got a great tub of snowmen/robins/snowflakes/reindeer/stars/snowy sky

I cut mine up last night into gift tags - wondered if I was the only person doing this and decided that I can't be!

Am now going to move onto DD birthday cards...

Oh yeh - I do this - have some scissors which make great edges - and then hole punch with some nice ribbon. This year I had comments on my lovely gift tags.

I cut it like - the small picture in the middle - cut that out, do a large one around the santa etc. End up with various shapes and sizes and one of a kind so to speak.

and LOL eidsvold, don't know why i thought it might be original even for a split second, but for some reason i never thought of christmas cards before, even though i make gift cards out of tissue boxes and any nice packaging.

Other ideas mmmm...

One thing I am doing is getting a box and putting all my left over wrapping papers, ribbons, hand made cards, and sticky tape and keeping it all together for a change for one stop easy gift wrapping.

I too have a lovely pile of christmassy gift tags all ready for next year- eidsvold, those 'wavy' shaped scissors are fab, aren't they. I bought a couple of pairs at the local craft shop, and use them all the time.

And like claricebeansmummy I've done the same with dd's b'day cards, because whenever I have to wrap a childs birthday present, I never have a tag...well not anymore

oh yes - do that - my birthday box - buy cheap cards when I have to buy one - buy a couple and always buy a few sheets of wrapping paper for birthdays - any left out bits and pieces or presents go in that box too. THis year bought lots of cheap chrissy cards and paper - all ready for next year and probably the year after too.

we are using our old christmas cards to decorate a large cardboard box which holds our decorations. DD loves doing it and it means that when we go into the loft to find the xmas decos they are VERY easy to find

we cut out pictures from the front and this year we are also cutting any nice messages (esp from elderly family - my dad, dh's parents) and sticking those on - I hope they'll be a pleasant thing to see in 20 or 30 years time

we've been working on this box after xmas for about 3 years now, it's a nice project

Dingle- those Christmas card boxes are fantastic, bit though as i have no more cards to use up on them.

Jeangenie- that box is a lovely idea, what a good keepsake idea.
