Sewing machine question!

Hello!

SO I need to cover some piping cord in fabric to match the cushion cover - BUT how do I sew close enough to it without having to squish it with one half of the foot?

Surely it's the same with zips? Is there a special zip putting-in foot? If so what does it look like and does it at all run over the zippy bit or is it only one half of a regular foot?

I hope someone understands this question! I'm stuck!

TIA!

Do you not have to do it by hand?

Oh no, please no!!!

But then I will need to sew the cushion cover halves together with the piping cord in between the layers and I will need to get as close again...

Surely I don't have to hand-sew the ENTIRE thing????

Sorry don't know how to do piping cord but you do get special feet for doing zips, and if IIRC you are right and it does only have one full part of the foot and a bit on the other side.

Yep use a zipper foot, it's the one that looks like half of the foot's missing.
