Knitter's assistance needed

Morning all,

I'm hoping a kind mumsnet (who can knit) will be able to help me out.....

About 6 months ago, I spent £2 at a museum shop to buy a knitted toy for charity (it was cute, but in all honesty it was for the donation rather than anything else).

And of course my daughter (now 15 months old) has become devotedly attached to it..... 🤦‍♀️

(When I had kids, I always said if my child became attached to a toy, I'd go out and buy a second one - so of course the universe would make that impossible! ).

I've taken a few photos and I was just wondering if there was a knitter out there who might be able to make a replica?

I'm happy with any colour (as I think colour matching is impossible!!) and will pay for wool and postage to get it to me.

Hoping it's simple to make - I don't knit, so have no idea!!

I should also have mentioned (though I'm sure everyone could guess), the reason I want a second is to allow separation when in the wash, and to preempt the inevitable loss should we only have 1....(because I know that if we have 2, neither will ever be lost!!)

Can I ask roughly whereabouts in the country you are.

I live in Oxfordshire, but we got it from a small museum near Taunton (I think) when we were on holiday in Devon.

I'm debatung contacting the museum to see if they know who made it 😂

The reason I asked is because, if you were close to me I could give it to you. The pattern looks like lit is the Hungry Caterpillar . If so it is made from a rectangular piece of knitting. Then it is stuffed and shaped. It is very easy to do.

I have lots of wool and would happily do this for you without any charge. I don’t know if you can sew, but it could send you the piece with instructions for stuffing and sewing. The stuffing is easily purchased. Just make sure it is fire retardant and washable.

Alternatively if you want me to make the whole thing just pm your address and these measurements.

Overal length of finished toy. Length of each individual section, length of the head. Circumference of the body pieces. The wools I have are pastels, but if you want to choose your own wools, you can send them to me.

I can see and I have stuffing. Though I would buy you flowers if you were able to do that for me too 😂 But do understand that everyone is busy and I'm just grateful for the knitting side of things. It's something I will never be able to master ( I don't get on with wool).

New "Tata" has arrived safely.

I honestly couldn't say who was more excited, me or the LO.

The smile of joy when the LO opened the box was so special. I'm so happy I got it on camera and have shared it with Florentina.
