Pouffe/Tuffet out of old ties

Could anyone help with a pattern I could download to make one of these please? I've searched online and only found a kit from America which will take weeks to come - time is of the essence as I'm making it for a competition in a months time Hmm
I need a template as I believe they're made in about 8 shaped strips which are then sewn together to form the circular cover.
Could anyone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks all

interesting project! there are a few finished products on etsy which may inspire you? not sure if you have the base pouffe to cover as the ones i saw all looked the same shape base which was the right size for the ties iyswim

Thank you for your reply - I've got a circular base that I'm attempting to cover from Aldi!
I'll look at Etsy - definitely need some inspiration Smile

I used this one (not for ties but using up some of my fabric scraps) blog.closetcorepatterns.com/fabric-floor-pouf-free-sewing-pattern/

The pattern pieces are likely too big for ties, you may be able to scale it down.

I really love the idea of using ties in this way!
I’m trying to collect some to eventually make a waistcoat.

Thank you both!
I've found a pattern on Etsy plus also downloaded the second pattern so hopefully I'm away to go.
I've got some amazing ties from charity shops, there's some lovely silk ones around, average price £1 each. Until I started looking I didn't realise how unusual and quirky some of the patterns on them were.
Really appreciate your help - and I love the idea of the waistcoat!

I came third out of about 25 so happy with that!
The one who came second made an amazing wreath - who knew old ties could be made into something so beat

That's fabulous Purple. Hendalle I'd love to know if you made a waistcoat. I want to make a waistcoat - and ties might be the way to go

Hendalle · 12/07/2022 18:38

I’ve not made the waistcoat yet but it’s on the list. I’ve been working on a top hat covered in ties instead.. this is the problem I have, I’m a milliner so frequently get distracted and make a hat or hat trim instead if whatever I’d initially planned.

This is so brilliant, well done. I volunteer in a charity shop and ties are one of those things which just don't sell. We tried putting out bags of 10 for £3.99 for craft but nobody was interested. We did toy with making a skirt out of ties to show what can be done, but your tuffet/pouffe is SO much better.
