Recommendation for a knitted dress pattern for a 5 year old

Following on from my successful request for a knitted dress pattern for my 3 year old dd I am now looking for another one for my 5 year old as she is getting very jealous. The pattern I've got (Louise Harding) only goes up to 3-4 years. Any help greatly appreciated as usual.

Hi dizzyday07 - thanks for the link but I was thinking of something with a little less wow factor . Something more like a Boden t-shirt dress with long sleeves or a pinafore dress that could be worn with a top underneath.

Could you just size-up the pattern you've got?

Are there any standard principles when resizing patterns so I can do it?

It would be easy to knit the skirt plain or recolour it to your own (or DD's own) taste.

Should be able to get the book from the libary.

Cotton Glace is v. hard wearing - was that the yarn for the other design too?

Is there more than one size for the pattern ie 2-3 as well as 3-4? If so, I would just work out the difference in the number of stitches and length between those sizes and then double the difference to make a 5-6 size. So, for eg, if the 2-3 size said to cast on 96 stitches for the 2-3 size and 104 for the 3-4 size I would add on another 16 stitches (to make 120) for a 5-6 size. Hope that makes sense! If there's ribbing you might need to check that the ribbing will work out right in the new size, but I quite often do this and it works out fine!

Yes, it is a bit too much isn't it? You could leave he sleeves and hem off, to make it a bit nicer

There's also a denim pinafore in Erika Knight's Simple Knits for Little Cherubs, but I don't have the book and not sure what size it goes up to. Picture here. The plainer styling might be more appropriate for an older child?

Grannyslippers - I've got this book on my wish list specifically because of that dress! They're selling it for £9.39 inc p&p through The Book Depository. Unfortunately as I live in rural France using a library is not an option for me
