Hello everyone! I have used patterns for crochet for many years, but have a pattern currently that is outsmarting me big style!
If I paste it here, can anyone tell me how to understand??
Row 1(WS): Ch 5 (counts as tr, ch-1 sp), dc in first
sc, (XL, 2X) ch 1, sk 1 sc, dc in next sc, (all) *3 hdc-cl
in next sc, dc in next sc, [ch 1, sk 1 sc, dc in next sc]
3 times; rep from * across to last 2 (2, 2, 4, 4) sc, 3
hdc-cl in next sc, (XL, 2X) dc in next sc, ch 1, sk 1 sc,
(all) (dc, ch 1, tr) in last sc, turn. (34, 38, 42, 48, 52
dc)
(XL 2X) ? I know they refer to size, but ??? (all)-does this mean I start my (S) size after (all) and ignore the beginning????
Many thanks if anyone can help
jeanette

Follow these bits, ignore the instructions for the larger sizes.
I think

Yes. The small size is the main instruction. Extra stitches for the larger sizes will be in brackets following. Just ignore them.
What is usually done is if you were following the large size you would go through the pattern and highlight the instructions for the size you are working
Where it says all it means all sizes are worked the same their is no diferenciation between S M or L.
