Can anyone decode this crochet stitch pattern?

I was wondering if anyone knows the name of this stitch pattern so I can google the instructions, or how I can replicate it? It's in one of my crochet books in the section on cluster stitches, but it doesn't give any details of how to do it (just the text that's in the photo). I've tried various combinations of treble clusters, chain spaces and doubles to "anchor" the cluster, but I can't just seem to get it looking right. Any ideas, wise crafters?

It's very similar but the pattern in my book isn't corner-to-corner, and I'm not sure I could get c-to-c to work with the design I had in mind... I'll have a further play using your instructions though and see if that sheds any light! Thank you for looking, much appreciated Smile

The picture is upside down, if you look at it right way up it should be easier to work it out.

Right, not upside down, this way.

It looks like a version of a drunken granny pattern.

And every time I turn and re-look at the image it looks wrong again Grin

I think it's called 'sidesaddle' stitch

I'll be a drunken granny myself by the time I work this out Grin

You've sussed it! Sidesaddle stitch, it is! I've done a quick sample from this Bella Coco tutorial and it looks close enough to the original picture in my book (especially if you turn it upside down...HmmGrin )

Thanks everyone for your help Wine
