Last minute plea: dried oranges for the tree

My ds has asked if we can have dried orange and lemon slices on the tree, and I seem to remember you cut them and put them in a low oven for a couple of hours, but can't quite remember the details.

Can anyone help?

I just made some the other week with ds, here it's on my blog it worked out very well and made nice ornaments and pretty tags on gifts.
