So, I'm really, really good at starting projects...finishing? Not so hot

So I posting a picture of my unfinished projects, in the hope that I'll get some motivation to finish them

Would anyone like to join me? I won't be off to a fast start as I'm off to the panto tomorrow with DD

I have a cross stitch which I started when my son was 18mo. He just turned seven and its still unfinished. It isn't even a particularly large peice. And I've only a small section left.

I just never finish anything!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 01/01/2022 11:55

Sorry here's the photo. Just the bottom right part to finish

I've got a spare bedroom part turned into a sewing room. Now filling up with junk... and I am supposed to be starting a small business in it!

I need to sort fabric and find storage for it.

Actually I need to get rid of some of it... and I can't face that! So I might try organising a swap shop!

And that should take up enough time not to actually get the room sorted or the business started 😃

KatyMac · 01/01/2022 13:09

I thought I was the only procrastinator for a while then!

So instead of finishing something this morning I have pinned some bits I was sending to charity!

Not ideal

I'm sat trying to work out when DH goes back to work so I can use his room for sorting stuff. I could easily do half an hour's worth of sorting, but crap telly, a snoring dog and big mug of tea have me pinned to the sofa 😃

KatyMac · 01/01/2022 14:53

TV cat and tea for me too!

I'm playing with Disney colours atm

So instead of sewing I just made a website..eek might go and sew now!

I have at least spent half an hour with a pen, photograph and sketchbook. Making notes for DSis birthday present. I might even make it to the printer and a pair of scissors later 😃

KatyMac · 02/01/2022 16:22

Heading in the right direction @HoardingSamphireSaurus....and certainly better than me!
I'm off to have a bath and ill see what happens then

Sounds great - I’ve a big patchwork quilt project I need to restart after a 6 month hiatus over house moves. And a blackwork I did 1/4 of while on maternity leave prior to the arrival of my now 5 year old and haven’t touched since.

Snugglepumpkin · 04/01/2022 04:50

I was going to post earlier but I had to drink my coffee, update my books, have a think...

I was tidying the other day (instead of doing what I ought to have been) & found enough strips of knitted blanket to actually make a beautiful baby blanket.

Only problem is the baby I knitted it for (before he was actually born) is almost 12 now.

I was going to sew them together (before he was born as I knitted it when I was pregnant) & I'm not sure what caused me to not just get on & do the last bit of actually sewing it all together.
Any day now though I'll be right on it after I get all the other stuff done.

Well I ignored all my part finished jobs again yesterday and made a skirt for a young guest who came for dinner!

KatyMac · 05/01/2022 16:21

Dress dresses and a blouse finished and packed ready to go!

well that was yesterday....today has been slower!

How are you all doing?

I'm making a quilt for my friend and it's at the really tedious stage, joining columns with lots of matching of points. I really need to push forward so that I can whack on the borders and get it done so that I can more on to something more fun.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 05/01/2022 18:15

Is MN being weird about photos? I forgot on my previous post and now it won’t upload on my computer.

Oh that's lovely!

I'm trying to work out how to make a suede skirt smaller as I lost weight cos of covid

OP posts:
BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 05/01/2022 18:22

Suede is tricky. I might be easier to have all the chocolate biscuits instead until it fits again. Grin

The blackwork nearly 6 years after its abandonment. Hoping getting it out is the first step to progress Smile

That is lovely

I am taking advantage of DD being away for a few days to tidy - she thinks I do too much

Nah, just took a while before we got round to replying.
BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 08/01/2022 21:43

Oh, that very pretty and intricate 1frenchfoodie

1frenchfoodie · 11/01/2022 22:32

Is anyone tackling projects thanks to this thread? The embroidery I took a pic of is never going to be done in a flash but I can see the progress I’ve made already! At the risk of boring you I’ll upload another picture a week from the original above. Hope others are motivated too
