How do you draw a 5 pointed star?

I have decided to attempt doing 'crafty things' with DD(4) this Christmas. Have never managed to draw a perfect 5 pointed star.
Also any suggestions on what decorations we could make, and how?

I have just drawn one on a post-it note which is near perfect freehand - couldn'tt tell you how to do one any other way -I think it involves compasses and whatnot. Sorry, really not very helpful to you ! I'm too impatient and would just draw it !

draw a triangle and then one on top upside sdown, obviously star of david but if your colouring it in .xxx

that'd be a 6 pointed star though

mummypud. that is 6 points in it.

5 pointer. the easiest is to do it without taking your pencil off the paper. Down to left a bit, up at lower angle then up again to left to cross first line, down towards the right, then up to meet your starting point. easy innit.

if you made a template of one, drawing it freehand then at least they'd all be exactly the same size and shape if not quite perfectly formed - and much more interesting for all that

five pointed star is easy, don't take your pen from the paper. Can't explain it properly but found these pics that show it
