Scruffy crochet edge

My otherwise quite neat first time crochet project (I'd never picked up a hook until a week ago) is spoiled by its waney edge. I really don't want to pull it apart. So is there anything I can do at this stage to tidy it up? And why is it like this

You've lost a few stitches.

It's worth learning to do standing stitches for starting rows on striped blankets, as the yarn ends are more secure and you get a very tidy edge.

For this one, keep an eye on your stitch count and it you can straighten up the rest you can hide the wibbly bit in a border.

You've lost some stitches. When I do stripes I count the stitches and put one in the end to keep it straight.

But stripes are a bugger.

I agree that you've lost a few stitches.

Putting a border on covers a multitude of sins though! It can work miracles.
