Popper pliers - help me understand instructions! (with pics)

I don't even know what this is really called! It's a tool that punches poppers onto cloth. There are instructions for 3 processes. The first is simply punching the popper. Easy peasy. However, I don't even know what the other two sets of pictures are referring to. Could they be for changing the size of the popper? The tool is apparently for T3, T5 and T8. Any guesses?

I've attached pics of the 2nd and 3rd sets of instructions, and of the tool itself.

They're called Kam snap pliers I think. Does this video help at all?

Haha! Thanks anyway @BurningBenches! Annoyingly, my smart Alec DH has sorted it - it's for changing the sizes of the attachments for different types of popper. Luckily the ones I've got don't require any fiddling about.
