Ok, we have three old 12" pushchair tyres, how can I turn one into a wreath?

I am determined but without a clue. Never made a wreath before. We have tinsel and a host of natural materials nearby, holly tree which may or may not have berries - haven't looked but it usually has masses - and spare decorations etc. Would anyone care to give me a few pointers, as in where to start?

Thankyou if you can spare the time!!

Wrap tinsel round it?

CremolaFirCone · 08/12/2007 16:15

you 'll need a base of greenery.start by binding the wheel with newspaper or straw and wrpping it with strips of grren plastic bag( bin bag). next you will need some thin green wire and some hlooy, evergreen branches chopped to about 6inch lengths.put the sprig of greenery diagnoally against the hoop and strat to wire on in a wrapping fashion keep going round adding sprigs until the whole wheel is covered.

then you can decorate it with anything you like.:
cones
ribbon
chillis
limes
cinnamon sticks
baubles
fake berries
eucalyptus
dried hydrangea
sprigs of gypsophilia

choose a theme to match your front door.

wonderful site

Ooh it sounds beautiful, Califrau. If there's one thing I love aout Germany, it's the way they do Christmas

My Grandfather was German, and when we were little he sent our family a big box full of beeswax candles, an angel chimes, little wooden angels, etc. It was magical, we always used those things every year, mum and Dad still do.

very special!

Will we get to see your creation? I'd love to have a go, but I haven't got any spare wheels!

BTW, I watched Blue Peter yesterday and it would appear that Health and Safety have been in and banned the usual tinsel and candles thing!
