I made these years ago but thought it might be worth sharing the idea.

Used old bits of scrap metal, like tealight holders etc. and cut them with scissors into an arc-shape, folded round and glued. Painted with enamel, a wooden bead for a head, wings another piece of cut tin.

Decorated with glitter, a wooden wand with bead on the end, paper music - used to be sat on a cotton wool cloud, but it gradually fell to bits!!!

I love them, they have become an heirloom - we have about 5 in different colours and faces etc.

Pic on profile in a mo x

They're lovely! I think I'll give them a try this year.
I made a nice pasta angel last year. I've put a pic on my profile and also a star made out of twigs. I can't remember what wood it was but something fairly bendy.

falalalalisa · 22/12/2007 22:00

quickdraw- how did you do the twig star?

I collected a few twigs and stared at them a while realizing that they were too irregular to glue and not sure how I'd tie them together...

Sorry but I can't see any photo's!
