What length of knitting needles do I need?

So, I’m a bit rusty but have picked up my needles again and have a lovely pattern for a 1.5m square blanket which is knitted in four separate pieces on 4mm needles with DK wool.

I need to cast on 165 stitches. Do I buy extra long needles, if so how long? Or use circular ones? I have 4mm circular needles but the cord is short and it’s a real squeeze. TIA

I would definitely use circular needles, not sure how many you will need for 165 stitches. I do most things on circular needles, they are so versatile. In would suggest getting at least 80 cm but maybe longer. It won’t hurt to half longer.

I'm currently knitting a baby blanket, 155 stitches and I've just measured my needles and they're 13" and I'm finding them fine
