Hi, I have been accepted on www.notonthehighstreet.com/
and wondered if anyone could give me any advice in terms of doing things properly. I'm concerned with the product safety issues because some of the things I make would be played or cuddled with by children.
I have found my local Business Link Centre but not been able to get to talk to someone yet about the reevant advice so thought I'd pick your brains in the meantime.
If you sell your handmade items via a website or face to face and they are aimed at children, could you please share some of your wisdom.
Then there's Product Liability Insurance....
Oh Lord, so much to think about but in the current climate of compensation claims you have to be so careful.
This is the sort of thing I make, here on my blog. It's all made to a very high standard and I triple stitch ribbons where possible and line the bigger dogs and horses before stuffing.
Would Trading Standards be helpful ?
Thanks in advance for any advice or help.
