Knitting pattern for an all-in-one / pramsuit thingy

Hi -
I've become surprisingly addicted to knitting while pregnant (so far made blanket, jumper, shoes and now on a toy elephant!). Baby is due in March and I wanted to knit him a sort of all-in-one / pramsuit type thing to wear when we're out and about in the early days while it could still be quite cold.
I don't really want anything fancy - nothing with ears (have a pattern for that in a book and don't like it!), or complicated patterns. Just something in garter or stocking stitch, but with closed feet and little mitteny bits and a hood. It probably doesn't need to be too fitted because it will go over his babygros etc.
Anyone know of any good baby books that have one or know of a pattern on the net somewhere?
Thanks!

Debbie Bliss does some designs (but the only one I can think of offhand was a cow one with ears!). Have also seen a lovely teddy bear one but again, has ears.

However, have a look at this list (the book I'm thinking of is no. 9 in this list, but there are others there to consider). I find her patterns easy to follow.

Thanks miaou - just finished my toy elephant so looking for my next project. I'll definitely go and have a look through the Debbie Bliss books (I have one at the moment and you're right - they are nice and easy to follow). If all else fails, I suppose I could just adapt an animal suit by not doing ears or tails, and doing them in a plain colour rather than with patches etc.

Do you want me to have a look through my old Phildar books? I'm sure I've got lots of things from before ears and the like were invented.

DutchOma - PMSL at "before ears were invented" - so true! If you could take a look, that would be fabulous

I emailed the pattern to you. Good luck with making it, you have inspired me to have another go at it!

Oh DutchOma and ChristmasPuds - thank you so much for your emails! The one ChristmasPuds has sent me looks perfect (no ears!!!) and I'm going to give it a go - happy to forward on to anybody who would like a look.

only to say that it may be more trouble than it's worth - if he' lying in a pram a blanket is an awful lot easier to put on and take off...

Mine had no ears either -- pouts
