Fabric - old curtains from charity shop, ideally shiny fabric, or with big patterns, in rich colours.
Alternatively buy damask furnishing fabric.

Sew on an A shaped panel on the front of the skirt in a different fabric, to give illusion of an underskirt.

Long full skirt. Make it stick out by making a sausage-like pad to tie round the waist (stuffed tights would do)).

If this is just for a one-off (performance not dressing up box) make a ruff from white crepe paper.

view A,in velvet and brocade? You would need to make a ruff though, should be able to get instructions online-I've seen them somewhere

,keeps looking>

Tomorrow?!

Kathyis6incheshigh · 03/12/2007 13:32

OK if time is at a premium - do a sleeveless bodice, like a waistcoat but lacing up in front, with a white shirt underneath.

wardrobemistressakasugarfree · 03/12/2007 13:32

What Kathy says then!

Isawnumptysmummykissingsanta · 03/12/2007 13:34

decoration - gold or silver braid, glue it on.

Any sewing that doesn't have any strain on it (eg hem) can be done with a stapler instead.

make a circlet for hair from gold or silver braid - quicker than making a hat.
