17th century fancy dress for DD!

Ok this is a huge long shot I know....

I was in the museum yesterday with DD (2.9) and there was an exhibit about the 17th century (or 16th can't remember - clearly I didn't learn much from the visit ) which included dressing up clothes for kids.

So my DD put on this 17th century dress and absolutely LOVED it. She's never really shown any interest in the polyester fairy / princess costumes you can buy but she is NUTS about dresses and thought this one was the best dress ever.

Sooooo.... I was thinking that I might try and make her something along those lines (using old curtain fabric!) but I have NO IDEA where I might get a pattern from. Anybody have any ideas? TBH it doesn't have to be a dress from a particular period - I think just any pattern for a kids dress pre 20th century would make her the happiest little girl.

I thank you all.

Katymac thanks - that is EXACTLY the kind of thing I was looking for. Now all I have to find is the time....

meandthoams thanks for the offer but I'm going to try and do this myself (can't guarantee what the results will look like but luckily I think DD is too young to really care!)

ta!
