What paint for canvas shoes?

I wanted to try and customise a pair of canvas shoes but not sure which paint to use.

The info I've found online is for US based products.

Has anyone here done this successfully?

Acrylic. I've seen people use Sharpies too.

Fabric paint or pens. Both are easily available. Or add a fabric medium to acrylic (but you have to be able to iron it afterwards).
