Atti24: Woodland Ripple Blanket

Just started this in Lucy's colours and I absolutely adore it! Hope to have it ready by Christmas (I'm a slow crocheter!) as a present for someone. I have to keep on counting and even undid three rows but I think I've got it now and everything is lining up. Has anyone else done this pattern before?

I'm doing the Coast ripple blanket in similar colours to Lucy but in Deramores DK rather than Stylecraft. I'm a knitter really, not a crocheter and I did find it quite difficult to get the ripples lined up at first. It's currently in time-out while I finish another project, but I will pick it up again. It's probably better suited to cooler weather anyway as it will be quite warm on the lap as it grows!

I'm doing the Dune blanket - there are so many lovely ones to choose from! I started it last year and have picked it up in fits and starts since. I might just start it again soon! The woodland ripple is also on my list to do!

@Boadicea2 I love the colours of this one, too. How do you find Deramores DK compared to Stylecraft? I like Stylecraft but its annoying that some colours have a thicker feel than others. I tend to crochet at a dining table so keep the weight of the blanket on the table.

@Sagaris I finished the Dune blanket last year but just made a large lap blanket for an elderly relative. Didn't use Lucy's colours and it looks quite different to hers! I used Stylecraft DK in yellows, oranges, browns and greens to suit the decor of the house. Good pattern though.

Hmm, not sure why the other photos posted Confused

It was one of the first crochet projects I did after squares for Woolly Hugs and I soon got into the rhythm of the rows. Some don’t quite stand up to close scrutiny but hey! Grin

Yours is what I am aiming for @CarrieBlue! Its gorgeous (and so is your cat!).

Lighthouseblue · 27/07/2021 18:44

@Saucery Wow! I've been crocheting for a few years and have found I am constantly counting but really like the colours and pattern. I'm hopeless at colours so am grateful for people like Lucy who seem to have a wonderful in-built sense of colour coordination!
