Hi there

I would like to knit a dress for my 3 year old daughter but am having trouble finding patterns. I prefer to knit in cotton if possible. Can anyone recommend any simple ones they have come across?

Many thanks.

Thank you very much for the links dizzyday but having looked at the instructions I think I would find them too difficult . When I said "simple" I really meant it

Do you think it would be better to use a simple jumper pattern then just enlongate it or does it not work this way?

I think I may have found something here

Does "bind off" mean the same as cast off?

It still looks scary though. I'd still appreciate any othe examples people may have tried.

is this by Catherine Tough any good? it's in a chunky yarn, actually it's just been discontinued by Jaeger you could pick up a bargain, or use something else more washable.

I've got this book by debbie bliss that has a lovely dress in it.

Now this one (scroll down to the pink striped pinafore dress) is rather lovely you could easily knit it plain.

I love both the Miss Bea's dress and the Zoe Mellor one but I'm going to try and get hold of the pattern for the Miss Bea one just because it's cheaper . Once I'm more confident I'll invest in a book. Thanks so much for the suggestions. I'm currently knitting a jumper for my ds in Sirdar Luxury Cotton but I'm already thinking about my next project even though I'm not even half way through yet!

I have that zoe mellor book (nauseating title!) and indeed knitted the jumper onthe front - it's fab.
It has a couple of v simple knitted dresses
If you buy it, email the publisher to get the errata! i did and got a very nice reply.

bunjies that is the road to knitting ruin, just don't be tempted to start it before you've finished the jumper .

that Rowan handknit DK cotton knits and washes fantastically although it takes a bit of drying. Wish I had a little girl to knit that pretty dress for.
