looking for recommendations for good quality, and hopefully reasonably priced fabrics. Also yarn. Thanks!

Are you in the UK? My usual companies are Black Sheep Wools, Wool Warehouse (for both fabric and yarn) and Empress Mills. I avoid Deramores as they changed hands a few years ago and after that they were unreliable.

I don't know why but I assumed the fabric requirements was for quilting/crafting, Wool Warehouse fabric is all quilting cotton so if you need it for dressmaking then it wouldn't be a good source. Empress Mills are good for all types of fabric though.

Myfabrics.co.uk have some lovely stuff, but only if you are in the EU as, despite the .co.uk ending, they are based in Germany so you would have to pay a customs fee.

I like Minerva for good quality dress fabric at decent prices. Stone Fabrics are much smaller and a bit more expensive but good when you want something specific as they really know your stuff. They also send up to 8 swatches if you send an envelope.

I love Handicraft Agnes - they have some gorgeous cotton fabrics. I also really like Fabricland - they are very reasonably priced and delivery is superfast.

I like fabricguild.co.uk/shop/ Mainly quilting cotton, lots of US imports and very reasonably priced, but website isn't the most nifty of websites.
