As I'm thinking of making cards and crafts things in my spare time and sell online.

What are the points I need to take into consideration to start selling?

Thanks

Can you make any money is the first thing. The chances are, unless you have a niche product that is specialised, probably not.

You will need to be willing to spend money to develop your products and the return is not assured. I have started selling greeting cards and digital art on Etsy since last year and the profit margin is very low. However, it has given me something productive to do in lockdown

You need to have have insurance.
People are not always keen to pay extra to have something homemade and do not realise that after you have factored in the cost of materials and your time, you are actually not making that much.

I do it as I enjoy making stuff and if I didn't sell it I would have no room. I do make a profit but it is small and I tend to use that money to upgrade my equipment or buy more materials.

hi, I have an Etsy selling needle felted items and now sell them in two stores. I don't make that much money from it, maybe because I'm not doing it full time (I'm doing it alongside part-time masters) but it's definitely fun!!!
