It could be that you form knit stitches and Pearl stitches at different tension so they look uneven.
I taught myself to knit continental style because I find it easier to knit holding the yarn in my left hand. I get more even stitches that way.

Also blocking. Have you blocked all your pieces before seeing them together?

I came to say blocking too. That helps. Trying to keep the tension the same all the way through can make a difference, and consistency in stitches

I will concentrate on the knit and purl tensions and block from now on. Very helpful. Thankyou.

If you're not blocking then you'll be amazed at the difference it makes. That's the first thing I would try.

It could also be your gauge. Do you check your gauge at the start of a project, or do you use the needle size in the pattern?

I will check the gauge as well .I think it is probably the blocking as stitches formed are pretty good. It is just the finished product .Didn't think blocking was necessary. Things should improve.Thankyou.

If you hold the yarn in your right hand, U.K. style, do you loop it round your little finger and then over your index finger?

Once I learned to do that (ages ago now) my knitting became so much neater and more even.

No,but I shall try that.Thankyou.
