Using modroc with dd- safe?

I bought a set of modroc (bandages with thin layer of plaster of Paris) billed for kids on Amazon, as dd (age 6) and I are making a cardboard/modroc/papier mache tree. I followed instructions for use but just wanted some extra reassurance on the safety of it, as I have very little arts and crafts knowledge. This stuff is non toxic and safe for kids, right? The internet seems so say yes, but please sense check me!
We were cutting strips off with scissors and soaking briefly in tepid water then smoothing onto a cardboard surface. Probably about an hour or so. We didn’t have goggles or face masks and only wore disposable nitrile gloves about half the time, rest of time used our bare hands before I realised gloves would be better. We were by an open window but there was some plaster dust raised when cutting the strips, and a fair residue of plaster of Paris had come off into the mixing bowl when we emptied the water at the end. We probably went through about four rolls of modroc in this process. Washed hands etc thoroughly after.

Modroc is pretty much the same as they use in casts for kids so you'll be absolutely fine Smile
