I'm looking for GOTS 100% cotton fabric. I want it to have some give and be fluid/good drape, ie not like a rigid table cloth. I think I want interlock? I don't want it to look ribbed though so trying not to use the word "knit" in my searches.

It's proving very difficult to educate myself on different types of fabric/cotton. Different search terms seem to bring up different results.

GOTS cotton with 5% elastane would be my plan B but I'm not ready to give up. I've literally spent days searching.

I'd be very grateful for any help!

Thank you.

If you want give and drape you need the elastine.
100% cotton won't have give and will crease easily.

Hi, I've used myfabrics.co.uk in the past, they have a number of different fabric types, I think a jersey would suit the fluidity you mention. They are helpful if you want to call them to discuss, or you could ask for small samples of the different fabric types.

It's always a trial and error when I order fabric from somewhere new!
The other non-accredited place I like is funkifabrics, they do lots of stretchy fabrics, useful for small people / sports / costumes.

Good luck with your project!

Thank you for the replies. The seller says these fabrics are 100% cotton. But they look very soft and pliable to me. This is the fabric I want. It makes no sense to me...

Can't really tell with the tea towel picture but the rolled up ones look like a jersey or cotton fleece. The folded ends are too thick to be a plain flat cotton.

What are you making?
