Does everyone register as a sole trader ? Or does it depend on how frequently you make and sell AND where you sell from ?

Is there an easy to follow guide of the do's and don'ts ?

If you are making to sell then you are a business and must register as such with HMRC. You turnover up to £1000 per tax year (turnover NOT profit) without registering, that is the only exception.
Don't forget wherever you sell you must have a business account refistered too and you must comply with the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013. This is regardless of how much you sell.
Some products have different requirements i.e. needing C.E. testing, labelling, insurances.
I don't know of any guides but feel free to ask. I have run several online businesses over the past 17 years, my current one for nine years.
