Making Mala Beads - Beginner

Does anyone make mala beads?

I would like to try to make a set with the plan to make them as gifts if I enjoy it.

What size of beads work best?

What kind and size of cord/thread for knotting in between each bead?

Where can I buy wooden beads, cord and maybe some little charms to add on?

Any tips? I have seen a knotting tool but I was thinking of just doing it by hand.

Any advice gratefully received.

Hi, are you still looking for info on mala beads?
I made my own mala beads using beads about pea size - the mala is quite long but this size of beads feels good when holding it during a meditation. I did hand knotting using a Youtube tutorial.
I used a macrame type thread and different types of beads - some wooden and some crystals. I bought the beads and the thread from Tibetan Mala Shop. They were really helpful and helped me choose a selection of matching beads.
