Hi does anyone know if I can sub lauren aston designs super chunky Yarn for anything? Have a pattern that needs 6 balls but don't want to spend £60+ on wool.

You should be able to sub for anything that's also super chunky.
I made a cardigan which was made with DK weight merino. I used a dk cotton/acrylic blend instead. It was fine.

If it’s similar weight / gauge I love Drops Andes or Wish. Hand wash only though, sadly.

Chunky and super chunky vary massively though in terms of weight so pick something from yarn sub that matches gauge and fibre as closely as possible

If the pattern is on Ravelry (most are) you will be able to see what yarns other knitters have used for it.
