hi ready salted i recently made a clay pot with my 4 yr old dd. got the recipe from the british moseum whan we visited.hope it helps
270g/91/2 oz plain white flour
250g/81/2oz salt
250ml/9fl oz water
if mixture becomes sticky you can add a tablespoon of veg oil or more flour.
knead dough for 10 mins- you can add food colouring at this stage if you wish ....the rest is up to you. hope this cheers her up

there was a fantastic thread on this a few months ago, people were putting vanilla drops or orange oil in theirs, and glitter, as well as the food colouring.
I put vanilla in and it was gorgeous!
