don't know if anyone is interested, but it was fab.
I've come home with a ring, pendant and a bracelet. It was all very hands on and have come back with the bug, will be asking for tools for christmas.

I would love to do something like that. I make bead jewellery but would love to take it further and do proper silver stuff.
Where did you do your course?

Can you show us what you made?! Sounds fab

I did the course at Knuston hall near Wellingborough in Northants, they do residential and non residential courses. But the tutor was Stephen O'Keeffe and he does courses all over the place.
It was great, we made the ring from wire. The pendant was from silver sheet and we used rollers to make imprints of patterns and then set a stone on it. I'm really pleased with it. The course moved pretty quickly as the first two pieces were finished by saturday night.
I'll try to take some photos tomorrow, ds permitting and put them on my profile and will post when they are up.
Am stopping now as I'm gushing!

I think I remember that thread, lol
He was really into making his own tools and using non specialist tools. His soldering torch was one you would use for your creme brulee's.

woodenchair · 28/10/2007 20:21

thanks! nope, was a complete novice. I was really surprised how easy it was.

I think alot of it was having the right tools and the tutor was really good.

Can't wait to get some tools and start making more bits, the order have started from friends and family
