Plastic tat taking over everything

Just a bit of a rant, really.

I used to sell at craft markets and Christmas fairs. I paint watercolour cards, wall hangings, bookmarks, etc. and have them printed onto really nice paper - all ethical, no plastic, so on.

I've also sold in independent shops.

Since lockdown obviously I couldn't do this. So I set up an Instagram and eventually an Etsy. I've been posting in local groups on FB (craft ones, not just random!)) for selling and they are just inundated with plastic crap! Literal tat from the pound shop with some extra glitter! But people are buying them!

I don't mean to sound stuck up, I'm not, I'm honestly just feeling so despondent. I haven't had a single sale and I've not made anything awful! But now it's got me doubting my own artwork and I don't know how to feel about it.

How can people be willing to spend so much on either MLM perfume or B&M's finest?

Sorry for the rant. Just needing a bit of a rant to anyone who might get it.

You're right, I'm amazed at some of the stuff being "crafted" and sold on Facebook marketplace. Who buys it?

It genuinely shocks me. Maybe it's just where I live that is especially bad (our local groups are full of it), but even some of the craft pages are being infiltrated now too.

And they're popular! So bizarre.
