refund on wool

Hi there, I have started knitting and get supplies from Lovecrafts, can I return unused balls of wool from the order having completed my garment or is it only for those that find the order is not what they wanted and can return the whole order intact?

This is what it says on their help page:

If you changed your mind on the item you ordered:

If you don’t love what you ordered, you can return it free of charge within 30 days.You will receive a refund for the cost of the goods (we will not refund original postage costs).

Please note refunds are available on items in re-sellable condition. Unfortunately we cannot refund yarn that has been wound into a ball, or partial yarn or colour packs. Only full yarn packs are returnable

So I suspect your second guess is correct.
