Aran blanket or throw

I want to make a blanket or throw for a young friend who has just moved to her forever home.
I am an accomplished knitter and can crochet quite well...but I don’t want to do anything hard!! I would like something that I can pick up and put down and do in front of the telly.
Any suggestions for patterns please? The yarn I have is Aran. I do t mind doing an easy Aran pattern but I really don’t like doing bobbles 😀

I probably don’t mind doing bobbles if it’s crochet but it’s so irritating having to turn and turn and turn when knitting.

For mindless crochet you can’t go wrong with the attic24 patterns, you can work them to any size yarn too
