ok:

"cast on 55 st
k4 [dec2k, k8] 5 times, end last rep k4, instead of k8"

what does dec2k mean?

(if you decrease by knitting 2 tog, you run out of stitches - each rep = 12 st)

sorry there should have been a comma after the initial k4, if that makes any difference.

Decrease 2, but then knit 8 ?

Blandmum · 13/10/2007 21:36

decrese two knitwise

themoon66 · 13/10/2007 21:38

Odd.... That means you would be starting with 58 stitches to achieve that.

lulu25 · 13/10/2007 21:42

i made it 58 too. it doesn't add up does it?

Just spent ten minutes trying to work it out and can't. If you k4, (then k2tog k8) x 4, k2tog k 4 then that is 50 stitches used. What are you making?

jamila169 · 13/10/2007 21:44

What's it for lulu? the stches don't add up but it might be one where you've got to do a few rows and it averages out

Tamum · 13/10/2007 21:45

I can't see any way of figuring that to make 55 sts. Weird.
